High Five Heroes program to increase peer-to-peer recognitions

At our one-year anniversary mark, we launched a survey to staff to gather their feedback on the platform. While the feedback was overwhelmingly positive, the main area for improvement was that staff were looking for additional ways to earn points.

In meeting with my AwardCo CRM, we saw that the log-in rate to the platform had been slowly decreasing. The amount of recognitions was steady but it seemed like a large amount of activity was coming from a smaller amount of staff.

We have just launched a new initiative to try to address both of these findings.

We have a non-monetary peer recognition program where staff give each other high fives for great work. To continue encouraging participation in this program, we just launched our High Five Heroes program. Each month, we select two winners who will each receive 25 points. To enter, they have to either be sharing recognitions or be recognized by a peer that month. So within this program, we have the Recognition Champion who is randomly selected from everyone who submitted a recognition that month and we the Shining Star, who is randomly selected from everyone who received a recognition that month.
